Embracing creative success and failure, frustration and satisfaction, I engage passionately with my art practice. My inspiration includes the conceptual artists of the 1960s, the DIY punk aesthetic of the 1970s, and the philosophical writings known as critical theory.

I explore a variety of forms and genres; my wheelhouse is ephemeral, process-oriented approaches and performance art experimentation. From 2014—2021, I was the founder, Artistic Director, and Choreographer of Si-si Dance & Performance Art Project (Si-si D), where I worked solo and collaboratively on a variety of cross-disciplinary projects which were presented at art galleries, alternative venues, and in public spaces.

However, my foundation and touchstone combines writing and drawing. I write and publish essays about my own work and teaching experience, as well as about diverse topics such as Black Metal music, Czech poetry, fashion shows, and Art/Life boundaries. I identify as an avid mark-maker and journaler, with a love for cartooning, card-making, and correspondence art.  Currently, my focus is on automatic drawing, asemic writing, visual poetry, and English and Arabic lettering and handwriting. My connection to classical Arabic grew from studying the art of Qur’anic recitation.

...I see, hear, and touch the beauty of the spoken and written word and stand in awe before the intersection of the literary and visual arts.
