MUNKEY IN THE CITY is a new original webseries, inspired by the real-life experiences of Writer/Director Michael Nguyen. Michael wrote the character Munkey to be an idealistic, creative young man who moves to a sprawling and vibrant City and struggles to thrive and connect.
The Munkey Team is a group of determined individuals living in the San Francisco Bay Area, empowering ourselves through art and film. Our talented cast and crew come from all walks of life, representing a diversity of different voices, colors, ethnicities, and genders that are missing in today’s media. With an increasingly diverse population, our goal is to entertain, engage, and enrich our audiences rather than follow the Hollywood model that is “woefully out of touch” (THR).
